EFTRE Conference 2025
Open call for active participation
This year, EFTRE decided to introduce new formats to its conference. The goal is to create more participative and collaborative sessions, which facilitate a fruitful and enriching exchange among conference participants.
EFTRE invited to submit proposals for one or several of the following conference formats. The deadline has expired. Submissions are now under review. Results will be announced in the beginning of June.

What’s up in RE?
Country presentations
15 min Presentation
EFTRE invites you to share current developments in your national RE community with your fellow European colleagues. Your presentation can focus on various aspects of Religious Education currently debated in your country and can include best practices just as much as challenges or reflections. It is recommended to link your presentation’s focus to the conference theme.
The aim is to facilitate first hand insights in national developments and to benefit from the European community to compare and reflect on them in light of experiences in other countries.
Presentation topics can be about Religious Education content, didactics, curriculum, policy, research (e.g. decolonising the curriculum, assessment in RE, integrating AI, change of RE model, teacher training issues, …).

Hands on
Workshops
75 min Workshop
A workshop is meant to deal with questions relevant for classroom practices such as methods, didactics, topics, materials or other pedagogical questions. This can include new findings and ideas based on projects or research work. It is recommended to link your workshop topic to the conference theme.
Workshops should have a hands on and interactive character encouraging participants to actively engage with the topic and each other. The aim is to learn about unfamiliar or new approaches how to teach RE.
